The Wonderful Lives

Out of sheer desperation and sickness, The Wonderful Lives were born in Sydney mid 2008. From the 'orchestral frenzy' of The Dirty Bride to the 'sublime' Blood Of An Englishman, the songs rise and fall, digging deep into a world of alternative folk and dark country, breathing new life into the otherwise neglected genre. Step right up and treat yourself to songs of love and hate, heaven and hell, life and death. We're all in this together.

The Wonderful Lives consist of Lucas Preddey (Vocals, Piano, Guitar, Harmonica), Tim Mahony (Cello, Guitar, Backing Vocals, Melodeon), Scott Cary (Drums, Percussion, Melodica, Guitar), Johnny Graffham (Pedal Steel, Guitars, Banjo), Mark Hall (Bass).

Winning 1st place in the 2009 Petersham Power band competition was a testament to the originality and wide appeal of their music and since then The Wonderful Lives have enjoyed a successful string of gigs throughout Sydney and the Blue Mountains, receiving excellent reviews and attracting a rapidly growing fan base in the process. Selected songs from the band’s Lighthouse Demonstration have enjoyed rotation on the playlists of Sydney’s FBi radio (94.5FM), Blu FM (89.1 FM) and featured on 2SER’s Sideways through Sound show (107.3FM). Blu FM also added the band’s catchy nightmarish sea-shanty Old Man Ocean as the 2nd track on the ‘Blu Plug 3’ compilation CD.

2010 promises to be an important year for the band as they continue to unleash their unique and original brand of alternative folk through their blistering live performances.
